This is a Sonic Producer review.  They make some bold claims on their website about what the product can do, and I felt the need to give it an honest review about what I have found to be true.

Well – for one thing, I will tell you that I am enjoying using Sonic Producer very much.  I have to say that this thing is absolutely amazing!  It is very well developed, has an excellent user interface, and is very intuitive to use.

It does create high quality beats very easily, has a 16 track sequencer that you can control the volume for individually, and it even records out to MP3 so you can share your beats with the world (or at least your friends).

To get started, you choose an empty track and start laying down your beats.  You can choose from a huge selection of drum sounds from kicks to snares, to high-hats, you name it, it’s all there!

Once you get your beat going, you start building on top of it, placing different instrument sounds on separate empty layers.  As I mentioned, you have 16 tracks – so that’s 16 layers that you can pile on.  I am using at least 5 just for the different drum sounds – making it sound like I’m sitting at my drum kit working it out for real.

The sound is so real – they have done an incredible job digitizing these instruments – they don’t sound cheap at all – all very real and crisp.  That’s important too – if you use software that cheap sounding instruments – your beats will sound cheap – and you won’t be happy with that.

Once you have all your instruments in – you can listen to it over and over again, and pull down tracks that are too hot with the built in audio mixer.

I’ll tell you the truth, I could play on this thing for DAYS without stopping – it’s so much fun!  You need to check this thing out!  Everything they show that you can do on their website is true – and the tutorials that are available once you become a member are even better.

They show you more than just how to use their software too – they have some very in-depth tutorials on professional music production techniques that I honestly didn’t expect.   They get into the use of much higher end tools as well – like Logic, ProTools, and keyboards and other hardware equipment.  Very well done, and professionally produced.

I was and remain truly amazed at the level of complexity, while still being very easy to use – and did I mention FUN?  Yeah, this thing is a BLAST!  You have GOT TO TRY THIS!

I hope that didn’t sound too over the top, but I rarely get to have so much fun reviewing a product for this site.
