The Best Way To Learn Guitar

Welcome to the Lean Music Experience! I have set up this site to help people who are interested in getting involved with Music – and don’t know where to start, such as the best way to learn guitar – for example.  I will go over as many different instruments as possible, talk about the best ways to learn them, what’s good and bad about them, and show you some products that might be able to help you learn them fairly easily.

When I was much younger, I wanted to play the guitar in the worst way. Unfortunately for me – that’s about what I got. I tried to teach myself, and it was a disaster. I had a friend who had taught himself, and I figured I could too. He not only taught himself to play – but he PLAYED REALLY WELL! We would go up on the Boardwalk and he’d play for people as they walked by – and they would GIVE HIM MONEY! How amazing was that! So – I thought if HE could do it – I COULD too!

What I discovered was that without disciplined well thought out lessons – it’s extremely difficult to teach yourself how to play the guitar. No, the Best Way to Learn Guitar is with step by step lessons – one on one if possible, with someone showing you exactly what to do – and helping you when you are not sure that you can do it. My friend was not able to do that for me – because he wasn’t able to transfer what he taught himself into anything anyone else would understand – and he didn’t have the patience to sit with me and show me what I needed to know.

The best way to learn guitar is through one on one – video lessons that you can watch and follow at your own pace. If you missed something, you can roll it back and go over it again. Your instructor will never get tired of showing you, and you can practice until you have mastered the lesson – and are ready to move on to the next.

The first thing you will need to get started is of course a Guitar. But, what type of guitar would you prefer to play? There is the Classical Acoustic, Acoustic, and Electric.
